Tavon Austin Calls it a Career: The Pocket Rocket Retires

Former Rams Star Hangs Up His Cleats

Tavon Austin, the NFL dynamo nicknamed “The Pocket Rocket,” has finally called it a day and retired from the league. The talented wide receiver and return specialist selected eighth by the St. Louis Rams of the 2013 NFL Draft, also added a new dimension to the agility of the gridiron.

As a receiver and a return specialist Austin confused the hell out of defensive backs with his electrifying plays throughout his career. His open-field Navigation, the skills he has to make the defenders miss, and at the same time end zone-making skills made him popular among the fans.
It can also be seen that he produced at a good but not terrific rate, however, his influence on the game cannot be understated as well as the entertainment he bought when he was on the field.

Later in his career, Austin played for the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars though he started his career with the Rams. Although he has tried to remain on the playing field, it is high time that he retired from the game.

Austin took to his social media pages and wrote, ‘I did it for Dream Big Austin, I lived my childhood fantasy’. For the support he received from fans, teammates, and coaches he also acknowledged his gratitude to them as well as the organizations that supported him.
